Today besides class Devon, another friend and I went to the Harry Potter Studio tour tonight! We’d booked it via groupon a few weeks ago since it was too good of a deal to pass up! Devon and I had been entertaining the idea of doing the tour  for a while but it was pretty darn expensive so when our friend told us about the groupon deal we knew it was happening!

Getting to the station was a little stressful, I had to get permission to leave a bit early so I could make it to the train to be there on time. As it was we ended up being a little late but it all worked out quite nicely!  The tour started out with a poster room for the movies including some in different languages and one where there was a body double for Ginny (bet you didn’t notice that one, I didn’t)! Then we went to the cinema room where we watched a short video about the making of the sets, behind the scenes stuff and the likes which was really cool! From here we entered Hogwarts, the main doors led us into the dining hall. Everything was awesome from the moment we stepped foot into the dining hall and it only got better from there!

In the dining hall we saw the sorting hat, costumes from various people like Cedric Diggory. Shortly after we saw Hermione’s dress from the Yule Ball along with Cho Chang’s and Viktor Krum’s as well. I absolutely loveed that dress as I’m sure the rest of the groupies did too! We also got to see Fleur Delacour’s school uniform, again, I loved that piece as well. I was pretty much fangirling this entire tour, no biggie. We also made some friends in this area as we went on to see the wands and other props. To quote Devon, “That’s the job you get if you can’t be a Disney princess or prince” speaking of our friends, but they were pretty awesome, and sorry I’m trying not to spoil the effect so you’ll just have to go see for yourself who they are?

Next we saw more costumes, Sirius Blacks and the trio’s casual costumes amongst the staircase entrance to Dumbledore’s office, the pendulum, and the Gryffindor’s boys dorm room! This area led us to further delight, or horror taking a gander at the scene at the Malfoy’s house where the witch was killed for supporting muggles which was really intense.. Alongside that was the Borgin & Burke collection entailing the most terrible of artifacts such as the disappearing closet, and the sarcophagus Harry hid in when he ended up in the store instead of somewhere else (this was a deleted scene sadly). To read and see more of what I’m not depicting and an awesome photo that I regretfully didn’t take on my own tour check out this link!

Next up was Platform 9& 3/4! We got pictures with the luggage cart and even got to check out the train! After this section was the cafe where we got dinner included! Devon and I chose the hot dog while our friend got the mac n cheese and we all got the butter beer and an ice cream plus a drink of our choice. Warner Brothers hooked it up for us groupon people it seems :O

Just outside of the cafe was 4 Privet Drive, the Knight Bus and the Bridge, and last but nowhere near least, the Potter’s cottage in Godric’s Hollow. The feels were real seeing the house, I grew up reading these books and watching the movies it was unreal!

After feasting our eyes on some of the larger sets we queued up for meeting the actor who played Professor Flitwick for a photo and a signature which was really quite awesome! Since it was already 11pm by this point we decided to more or less speed through the later part of the tour since it was at our own pace and made it out by probably 11:30/45. What we didn’t speed through however was Diagon Alley, it was fantastic! Much smaller than what I had imagined it would be but then again it was still awesome looking. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who is in the London area for a while and has the time to spare, it was fantastic and well worth it! Until tomorrow!
